Alexander Henny

Alexander Mario Henny is the great-grandson of Maria Montessori. He was born in 1947 as the second son of Marilena Montessori, the eldest grandchild of Maria Montessori. Many descendants from Maria Montessori have been active in the Montessori movement. He has been a Board member of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI, founded by Maria Montessori in 1929) since 2002. For eight years he served on the Board and on the Executive Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee and the Communications Committee of AMI. He is also function on the Editorial Board of the AMI Journal. In 2007 he started as director the Montessori-Pierson Publishing Company, owned by all the eleven Montessori’s great-grandchildren, in order to publish Maria Montessori’s works and to spread her literary legacy all over the world. The Montessori-Pierson Publishing Company published 24 books in English, 3 books in Dutch and 13 books in Spanish.
