Full Professor of History of Education at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, he studied and improved at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa. He is the President of the Italian Center for Historical-Educational Research, the Director of the "Antonio Rosmini" Center of Rovereto-Trento, and the co-director of the magazine "Annals of history of education and educational institutions”.
