Giuseppe Tognon

Giuseppe Tognon is full professor of History of Education and General Pedagogy at LUMSA University of Rome. He graduated and specialized in in Philosophy at Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, under the direction of Remo Bodei and Eugenio Garin, then he studied in France and Germany. He has been professor at Venice, Pisa, Rome, Paris universities. During the Prodi government (1996-1998) he held the position of Under-Secretary of State for Scientific and Technological Research. He is President of Alcide De Gasperi Foundation of Trento and of the digital national edition of Alcide De Gasperi’s correspondence. He wrote about: the history of philosophy of Renaissance and Modern age, the transmission of culture in the Contemporary age, educational and university education policies, the history of the Catholic movement in Italy, the philosophy of education and comparative pedagogy.
