Leonardo Fogassi is Full Professor of Physiology at medicine and surgery department at the University of Parma. He is chair of neuroscientific discipline of Medicine and Psychology courses degrees. His research interests are in the neuroscientific area of the cognitive properties of the motor system, with particular reference to the mirror neuron system, of which he is co-discoverer. He has lectured at numerous conferences on the relationship between Montessori pedagogy and neuroscience. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in international journals, most of them with high I.F., and about 30 chapters in books; citations 23.281 (Web of Science source).
