Exhibition of ancient Montessori materials

The "Leonardo da Vinci" Technical Institute was attended by Montessori from 1886 to 1890. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of its important scholar’s birth, it will host an exhibition of materials, owned by Opera Nazionale Montessori, dating back to the 10s, described by the scientist in the first and second edition of her book The Montessori Method. In addition to the materials, will be exhibited also school records, historical editions of the pedagogist's texts and photographs. The visit will be conducted by the students of the Institute, thanks to the collaboration of the school director Dr. Irene de Angelis Curtis and the school teachers.

The first location of the Institute was in the prestigious Palazzo dei Cesarini e dei Borgia, not far from the current place. The building overlooks Piazza San Pietro in Vincoli, where in the church with the same name it is possible to admire Michelangelo's Moses, a brilliant and multifaceted artist cited by Montessori in The Advanced Montessori Method, in relation to the artistic imagination that bases its foundations on the observation of reality.
